Netkey, a global provider of software for the operation and management of digital signage and self-service kiosks, today announced that Wireless Zone, the largest independent Verizon Wireless (NYSE: VZ) dealer in the U.S., has selected Netkey SaaS (software-as-a-service) to operate digital signs in the company’s stores.
Based in Middletown, Conn., Wireless Zone has been ranked the Number One wireless communications franchise in the U.S. by Entrepreneur Magazine for three consecutive years. Found primarily in the Northeast, Midwest and South, more than 350 stores operate under the Wireless Zone brand, and the company is targeting having 400 locations open by the end of 2009
As part of an effort to enhance the customer experience and drive new sales, the company is installing up to eight digital signs in each Wireless Zone store. The signs display up-to-the-minute information about new wireless products, services, and special carrier promotions, and all content can be remotely updated and managed from a single PC at Wireless Zone headquarters using Netkey digital signage software.
“In the highly competitive wireless market, providing current information about products and services to customers is a must,” said Jose Olmeda, executive director of store development for Wireless Zone. “The flexibility and ease-of-use of the Netkey digital signage software has allowed Wireless Zone to generate immediacy with our in-store marketing communications and guarantee a consistent brand experience across all our outlets.”
“Digital signage is a powerful vehicle for delivering targeted advertising and marketing messages to retail consumers at the point of product decision,” said V. Miller Newton, chief executive officer of Netkey. “Wireless Zone will drive measurable returns from enhancing the retail experience using Netkey digital signage software.”
