Tizen OS, an open-source operating system based on Linux, was developed by Samsung in collaboration with Intel and the Linux Foundation. Initially targeting mobile devices, Tizen quickly expanded into smart TVs and digital signage. By 2015, all Samsung smart TVs ran on Tizen, featuring enhanced user interfaces and robust app support. With continuous updates, the platform has incorporated AI, 8K resolution, and seamless integration with Samsung’s SmartThings. As of 2024, Tizen drives innovation in digital signage, offering advanced features, enhanced connectivity, and a unified smart device experience.
