Sony has unveiled a new line-up of innovative public displays, the BRAVIA Professional range.

The BRAVIA line-up will expand Sony’s existing range of Bravia Professional displays from four to nine models with screen sizes of up to 60” and 65” screen size. The new models are fully modified for professional usage, with a RS232C-HDMI converter box for remote monitor control. The BRAVIA range has been specifically designed for B2B applications and to meet the needs of the corporate, public sector and small business users. Sony is also proud to announce the launch of the VSP-BZ10 HD Digital Signage Player, ensuring a comprehensive solution to visual digital engagement.

The BRAVIA Professional displays range offers an unrivalled image quality that can be automatically tailored to suit its environment, in a slim and stylish design. LED backlight technology adjusts backlight brightness according to the picture content and instinctively alters settings depending on the nature of the image, creating clear and vibrant images. The built in light sensor identifies the level of ambient light and adjusts the television brightness accordingly, automatically providing a great picture and also saving energy. Similarly, a built-in intelligent presence sensor can detect viewer absences, and turn off the screen, before reverting to Standby mode. Sensor triggers can then reactivate the screen when viewers return, ensuring that energy is not wasted displaying images to empty rooms. The 60 and 65 inch range which has a monolithic design, also comes with a built in OptiContrast panel, which minimises internal reflections to provide maximum picture brightness and sharpness.

As well as delivering stunning and bespoke images, the BRAVIA Professional displays offer improved functionality and operability. The USB playback function provides easy entry signage and affords users flexibility in terms of both file format and content display options. The RJ45 connector provides internet capability, utilising a built-in Opera based browser. BRAVIA display owners can also benefit from free access to Skype-to-Skype internet voice and video calls. Additionally, the Media Remote App allows for smartphones to be used for easier keypad input. Operators can use their smart phones for BD player/BDV operation, keyword input, content search and more.

As Takayuki Nakane, of Sony Professional explains: “The BRAVIA Professional display reflects the changing needs of the business user, incorporating a raft of improvements in terms of functionality. The BRAVIA Professional display not only delivers excellent bespoke images to the target viewer, but also opens up an array of options to the operator, ensuring it can access and display content from a number of sources, in line with user preference.”

Combined with the VSP-BZ10, HD Digital Signage player, Sony provides an affordable end-to-end solution for digital signage of unrivalled quality. The VSP-BZ10 is both reliable and economically friendly. Consuming only 8W, the VSP-BZ10 is able to provide Full HD video and image playback with interrupt capability useful for on-the-fly messaging. It supports vertical and horizontal scrolling text, as well as conversion of Flash and Powerpoint files and allows for SD, USB or Network distribution. The VSP-BZ10 comes with free bundled software which has pre-set control commands for BRAVIA (selected models only) and is capable of managing up to 10 units of VSP-BZ10 players.
