3 min read

Scala, the leading provider of end-to-end solutions in the connected signage market, today announced that the company has officially started its Scala India operation. Dedicated business development, content innovation and technical support and development teams will operate out of the Scala India office in Bangalore under the leadership of an experienced and professional management team. This step will further strengthen Scala’s successful market position in the high-growth Indian digital signage and advertising marketplace.

Scala India emerges from a joint venture between Scala Inc. and Digifour Technologies Pvt Ltd, a leading technology and digital signage service provider established in 2001. Since 2005, Digifour has pioneered Digital Dynamic Signage (DDS) technology in India and has become the leading comprehensive provider of DDS in multiple vertical markets in this country.

Scala India will concentrate its efforts on aggressively expanding the digital signage market and supporting existing Scala local customers and partners by offering a complete end-to-end digital signage solution, including software, hardware integration and hosting, content production, media and network management, and more.

In addition, Scala has considerably strengthened its software development capabilities by integrating a team of highly-qualified software engineers in India, complementing Scala’s development teams in the United States, Canada, France and Norway.

“We continue to aggressively further extend our global leadership position in the digital signage marketplace,” said Gerard Bucas, Chief Executive Officer of Scala. “India is an important emerging marketplace for digital signage, and by setting up the India office, Scala ensures that we are not only present at the heart of the market but also ready to expand our activities in this key market.”

“Scala’s investment in Scala India is a clear sign of our recognition of the enormous potential of the digital signage and advertising markets in this country,” said Oscar Elizaga, Vice-President of Scala, EMEA, India and Latin America. “Under the leadership of our Indian management team, we are confident to continue to build on the many successes developed by our local staff and partners, as well as to develop Scala India into an incubator for new technology and service initiatives for Scala on a global scale.”

“The establishment of Scala India illustrates that Scala will further actively push the digital signage market in India and its stake in that growth market,” said Mohamed Rafeeq, Chief Executive Officer of Scala India. “The brand equity of Scala will significantly leverage our opportunities here and also help in extending truly world-class products and services to our customers and establish Scala as the market leader in the industry.”
