Digital signage software provider Cilutions has created a new digital signage and video-on-demand solution specially designed to work with Amino IP set-top boxes.
Cilutions’ Digital Media Bridge (DMB) suite of products provides the following feature set on Amino’s A540 set-top box:
• Satellite and Internet-based movie distribution
• Automatic and on-demand playback of locally stored or streaming video supporting both satellite multicast and Internet reception models
• Digital signage screen zoning
• Full remote management offering SNMP-based control of all A540 functions
• Support for dynamic and real-time digital signage screen updates
• Browser based local control of digital signage assets
• On-demand live video recording capability for future playback
Cilutions selected Amino’s A540 personal video recorder (PVR) set-top box as the ideal device to host its DMB Media Player offering customers digital signage, video-on-demand and digital menu boards as an all-in-one set-top box appliance.
Initial deployments of this new product are now underway in a number of enterprise and hospitality environments.
Cilutions CEO Bill Stanton said: “Amino provides a set-top box platform that is ideally suited for our DMB Media Player application. By selecting our DMB software and the Amino A540, network operators can quickly and effectively deploy a flexible and feature rich digital signage and VOD product that runs in a wide variety of network environments.”
Amino CEO Andrew Burke added: “Amino has a strong track record of working with innovative companies who are delivering leading-edge digital signage solutions. Cilutions’ DMB offering is perfectly aligned with the power and performance of our next generation A540 device in delivering a great end user experience that our customers have come to expect from our latest product range.”
Amino’s A540 PVR uses the new STi7105 system-on-chip processor and is supported by an extensive ecosystem of set-top box middleware, browser, conditional access and DRM options required for the widely varying configurations of the IPTV market.
