Singlewire Launches InformaCast Mobility for Extending Mass Notification2 min read
InformaCast Mobility extends mass notification by providing text and/or audio to mobile and landline phones of people located off-campus or outside the reach of on-site alerting systems.
Singlewire Software (http://www.singlewire.com), developer of network-centric notification software for overhead paging, mass notification, and emergency communication, today announced the launch of InformaCast Mobility for reaching mobile and land line phones with notification.
InformaCast Mobility allows users to include external phones, email addresses, SMS text messaging, and cell phones as eligible recipients of InformaCast broadcasts. Recipient accounts are created via a mobility plugin from within InformaCast and can then be assigned to a recipient group for broadcast notification like any other endpoint.
“We’ve made it easy for organizations running InformaCast to expand their notification reach to people who are at home or away from work,” states Ken Bywaters, executive vice-president of product development at Singlewire Software. “With the push of a button, the same text and audio notification that is being sent to the overhead paging systems, Cisco IP phones, digital displays, computer desktops, and other systems inside the organization can now also be sent to cell phones and land lines outside the organization too.”
InformaCast Mobility is enabled through a plugin to InformaCast. Service for delivering audio and SMS text messages to cell phones and external endpoints is available from Singlewire for a fee. Learn more at http://www.singlewire.com/mobility.
Singlewire InformaCast is a full-featured, network-based mass notification, emergency communication, and overhead paging system that allows users to simultaneously send an audio and/or text message to a variety of endpoints including IP speakers, Cisco IP phones, overhead paging systems, computer desktops, digital signage, SMS text, social media sites, and more.
The InformaCast platform for mass notification and emergency communication was developed in the weeks following the 9/11 attacks to evacuate federal buildings within 15 minutes. Over 3,000 organizations in 45 countries have implemented InformaCast as their notification and overhead paging system. It can be purchased through registered partners of Singlewire.
