Visit Wales Initiates Integrated Social Media and Digital OOH Push
2 min read
Visit Wales, the body responsible for the promotion and development of Welsh tourism, is featuring a new digital out of home initiative as part of its current campaign which sends Piers Bramhall and his girlfriend, Emma Foley, on an epic holiday adventure in Wales this September.
The ‘We Want Piers Bramhall’ initiative, created by Wieden & Kennedy, culminates in the couple embarking on the trip itself, following a month of invites from the Welsh people, suggesting where they should visit and what they should do. From 5 September, BigBalls production company will film their action packed tour of Wales. Daily online wrap up films will highlight their adventures with edited highlights running across digital outdoor formats on the London Underground and at major rail termini across the UK.
Digital out of home production and technology specialist Grand Visual is coordinating the daily video updates and live news feed via OpenLoop their ad serving platform which allows advertisers to manage live copy executions across all major UK DOOH networks.
The activity runs for one week on Outdoor sites including JCDecaux’s Transvision and D6 Rail Screens. Media was planned by Mediacom with the out of home activity booked through Kinetic.
Hannah James, at Visit Wales commented: “We had the brief to communicate Wales in autumn as a really vibrant place with lots happening and an exciting option for a break this season. The ability to live broadcast an action packed trip that a real couple are experiencing is a great way to do this. “
