Barcelona’s Fira de Barcelona to Unveil Innovative Transparent LED Display at ISE 2024

Fira de Barcelona's Gran Via Venue to Feature a Ground-Breaking 193m2 Invisible LED Screen, Enhancing the 20th Edition of ISE.

Barcelona is gearing up for an extraordinary visual spectacle at the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2024, where a state-of-the-art transparent LED display will be revealed at the South Access of Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue. This installation marks a significant milestone in the event’s 20th edition, taking place from January 30 to February 2, 2024.

The 193m2 invisible LED screen, a permanent addition to the venue, is set to dazzle attendees of ISE 2024, the first event to feature this innovative technology. Its unique transparent design allows for a seamless blend of digital content and architectural aesthetics, maintaining visibility of the building’s interior.

Mike Blackman, Managing Director of Integrated Systems Events, shared his enthusiasm for the project, emphasizing the opportunity to display the best of pro AV and digital signage at this landmark edition of ISE.

In line with Barcelona’s reputation as a hub for major industry events, Marc Serra, Venue Services & Infrastructure Director of Fira de Barcelona, highlighted the screen’s significance in showcasing Fira’s dedication to innovation, technology, and excellence.

The transparent LED display, featuring MUXWAVE M3 technology with a 3.9mm pixel pitch, will be installed by SONO, who will integrate over 950 tiles into the venue’s glass façade. Daniel Pérez Rubio, Sales Director of SONO, expressed excitement for their involvement in this pioneering project.

The installation requires a sophisticated media server to deliver dynamic and stable content. Ventuz and Realtime Department are collaborating to ensure a flawless integration of programming and on-site installation. Christoph Gockel, Managing Director of Realtime Department, noted the company’s expertise in creating immersive content for such large-scale installations.

Ventuz brings crucial real-time software capabilities to the project, enabling the playback of vast visual data and interactive content. Mike Steinbrecher, Director of Global Sales for Ventuz, expressed pride in contributing to this innovative endeavor.

Sustainability remains a priority for Fira de Barcelona, which powers its facilities entirely with green energy, including a significant portion from local wind farms. This commitment underlines the event’s dedication to environmental responsibility.

The unveiling of the transparent LED display at ISE 2024 is poised to set a new standard in digital signage and architectural integration, promising a visually stunning and eco-friendly experience for all attendees.
