FAIRFAX, VA – AVIXA, the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association, is thrilled to unveil the elected members of the 2024 AVIXA Board of Directors and Leadership Search Committee (LSC). The results were confirmed following the recent AVIXA membership election.
Regrettably, the Association mourns the untimely passing of Brad Sousa, CTO of AVI Systems, who had been elected as Secretary-Treasurer of the Board. The LSC will soon announce a special election to fill this crucial position before the end of the year.
The newly elected members to the AVIXA Board of Directors are Kaushik Mukhopadhyay, CTS, Managing Director & CEO of AVID, and Christian Carrero, Managing Director of prodyTel GmbH.
The LSC, responsible for appointing members to the Board, has welcomed Laila Hede Jensen, Global Group Chief Business Expansion Officer at ZetaDisplay, and Gale Moutrey, Global Vice President of Brand + Workplace Innovation at Steelcase. Additionally, Mradul Sharma, Founder and Managing Director of 3CDN Workplace Tech, has been reappointed to AVIXA’s Board of Directors.
Michael Bridwell, Vice President of Commercial Sales at Sonance, has been elected to the LSC by AVIXA members. The LSC has also seen the appointment of Pedro Valletta, CEO of interproAV, and Juan José Vila, CSO of Equipson.
The 2024 AVIXA Board of Directors, including the Secretary-Treasurer position to be determined, is as follows:

- Chair of the Board of Directors: Cathryn Lai, OpenBet
- Vice Chair: Jatan Shah, QSC

David Labuskes, CTS, CAE, RCDD, Chief Executive Officer of AVIXA, expressed gratitude for the wealth of expertise the new members bring to the Board, emphasizing their diverse perspectives as instrumental in driving the association’s mission.
AVIXA acknowledges the valuable contributions of outgoing LSC Chair and former Board Chair Sam Phenix, Phenix Consulting, and outgoing Board members Michelle Grabel-Komar, Tze Tze Lam, and Dena Lowery. The Association also extends appreciation to outgoing LSC members Sharath Abraham, CTS, Christian Orcin, and Althea Ricketts.
