Atlona to Offer Mac® Users a Number of New Solutions at the 2011 International CES

Atlona AT DP400Mini DisplayPort Converters, Splitters, and Switches Allow Legacy DVI-Based Mac® Products to Work With Newer Apple Cinema Displays®

Atlona Technologies® today announced that the company will be highlighting a number of new products for Mac® users at the 2011 International CES. Including Mini DisplayPort converters, splitters, and switches, Atlona’s offering allows Mac users easily and cost effectively to use their legacy DVI-based Mac products with newer Apple Cinema Displays® utilizing Mini DisplayPort connectors, including the iMac® 27-inch and 24- and 27-inch LED displays.

“Mini DisplayPort is quickly becoming a common standard due to its open nature. And while Apple was among the first to adopt this connector, many other manufacturers are now supporting the format,” said Joshua Carlson, director of public relations, Atlona Technologies. “Atlona was the first company to offer relief to a large group of frustrated Apple users looking to use newer Apple displays with legacy Mac products, first with our AT-DP200 and AT-DP400 converters, and now with the new AT-DP300. In addition, Mini DisplayPort compatibility has been a thorn in the side of many A/V users, and we have once again come to the rescue with three new Mini DisplayPort products: the AT-MDP12, AT-MDP14, and AT-MDP21.”

The first device to easily convert any Mac or PC DVI or Mini-DVI signal to a digital signal over a Mini DisplayPort connector, the AT-DP200 is one of Atlona’s most popular products. Optimized for the iMac 27-inch monitor, which can support resolutions up to 2560×1440, the AT-DP400 goes even further by converting a dual-link DVI output. The new AT-DP300 HDMI to Mini DisplayPort converter and scaler is specifically designed to allow users to connect HDMI devices such as their PS3™, Xbox 360®, Apple TV®, cable or satellite receiver, and Blu-ray™ player to their Apple® 27-inch LED and iMac displays.

Atlona’s AT-MDP12 is a one input to two output Mini DisplayPort splitter, while the AT-MDP14 offers one input to four outputs. Both units are designed to allow computers with a Mini DisplayPort connection to be simultaneously displayed on multiple Apple 24-inch LED and Apple iMac 27-inch displays. In addition to supporting resolutions up to 2560×1600 and surround sound audio of PCM 7.1 and AC3, the AT-MDP12 and AT-MDP14 feature a USB connection to power the units as well as pass audio. With four sets of EDID formats, both devices provide fast switching between source and displays.

Supporting digital video resolutions up to 1920×1200, the AT-MDP21 Mini DisplayPort KVM switch is perfect for users looking to use a single 24-inch Apple Cinema Display with multiple Mini DisplayPort computers or sources. The unit has two individual Mini DisplayPort inputs, four USB inputs, and an individual Mini DisplayPort output, as well as two USB outputs for a keyboard and mouse. The AT-MDP21 does not require a separate power supply, and features two push buttons on the front panel that allow users to select between sources.

All Atlona’s Mac products have undergone rigorous testing at the Apple Lab in Cupertino, Calif., ensuring perfect compatibility between all Apple computers and displays. The devices also work with non-Apple displays with the use of Atlona’s Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort adapters.
