— Working with Clinton Cards in the UK, Woodies DIY and Health Express in Ireland
Shoppers can now purchase a range of compilation CDs, Christmas albums and music gifts from interactive displays in a greater number of UK and Ireland stores following the expansion of in-store entertainment specialist, Somerset Entertainment, the retail point-of-purchase division of Mood Media Corporation (TSX:MM / LSE AIM: MM).
Customers at over 40 Clinton Card stores – an existing Mood Media client – have been able to buy these albums from Somerset Entertainment’s displays from the beginning of November. Somerset Entertainment specialises in speciality music compilation CDs such as relaxation and lullaby tracks, which have been huge hits in the US where they have been sold at point-of-purchase, when customers are looking for that extra gift or special purchase.
Somerset Entertainment’s flagship interactive displays will light up the aisles of 30 Woodies DIY stores and three Health Express stores with assorted Christmas music. Five Woodies stores will also feature Fisher-Price branded children’s CDs.
Mood Media Corporation is continuing its international expansion following the merger of Toronto-based Fluid Music with Mood Media in June, 2010.
Lorne Abony, CEO of Mood Media Corporation, said: “Our strategy is to introduce Somerset’s point-of-purchase media services to Mood Media clients in Europe.
“We are very excited about bringing a comprehensive range of speciality music and entertainment media services such as casual games and interactive visual displays to grow the European in-store media market. These client wins are great examples of how that can be achieved.”
Mood Media Corporation is introducing Somerset Entertainment to leading retailers in Germany and France as part of its international expansion.
