In case if you missed

Fayetteville State University (FSU), Fayetteville, N.C., recently unveiled an integrated video, scoring and advertising display system as the Broncos hosted their first game of the 2010 college football season. The new system was made possible through the joint venture of FSU and Daktronics Sports Marketing (DSM), a service division of Daktronics specializing in generating corporate advertising revenues to help pay for the entire system.

“This couldn’t have happened without the mutual partnership between DSM and Fayetteville State University,” said Dr. Edward McLean, Director of Athletics. “What this offers to our athletics program, as well as our fans, university and community is absolutely astounding. This gives us the opportunity to truly shine as a leader in our field and we are blessed to deliver the kind of fan experience that is long over-due. To see our fans in the stands on the big screen, cheering and supporting our team is phenomenal.”

The centerpiece of the new integrated system is an LED (light emitting diode) video display measuring approximately 12 feet high by 22 feet wide. The video board can operate as an independent display showing single large images or be divided into multiple zones (windows) to show a wide variety of statistics, information, graphics, animations, live and recorded video and corporate partner recognition.

Located below the video display, fans are also informed of game in-progress information by a reliable Daktronics scoreboard complete with low power, high brightness LED digits and programmable team name displays.

The integrated system continues outside the stadium with a full-color marquee display greeting, informing and entertaining spectators arriving at campus events.

With Daktronics powerful and complete control package, the new displays are integrated to provide a dynamic informational network.

Daktronics Sports Marketing marketed and sold new corporate partnerships that helped cover the cost of the entire system, a plus in today’s increasingly competitive economic environment. Among the corporate partners are Doubletree Fayetteville, CenturyLink, FSU Athletic Club, Coca Cola, FSU Foundation and more.

“It was a challenging project, no doubt,” said LeAnn Holler, Project Development Manager and Advertising Sales Manager for DSM Southeast. “Hard work and determination between DSM, our Customer and the Advertisers made this project a success.”
