3 min readAAEON (TAIEX: 2463), a premier Industrial PC manufacturer, is pleased to launch a new, high performance 3.5″ SubCompact Board: GENE-9655. The GENE-9655 is a cost-effective option offering the highest performance with multi-functional embedded computing solutions in its class.
The GENE-9655 adopts the Intel® GME965 + ICH8M chipset and has the Socket-P that can accept an Intel® Core™ 2 Duo/ Celeron® M (65nm) processor, such as the 2.2GHz T7500. The board can also be ordered with the option to have an Intel® BGA processor embedded on it in place of the processor socket. The GENE-9655 supports up to 2 GB of DDR2 533/667 memory in its one 200-pin SODIMM socket. For high-speed network communications, the GENE-9655 features the Intel® 82574L and Intel® 82566MM chipsets which support two Gigabit Ethernet ports to provide fast data transmission. Another key feature of the GENE-9655 is the multiple I/O interfaces, such as six USB2.0 ports, three RS-232 ports, one switchable RS-232/422/485 port, one PS/2 Keyboard, one PS/2 Mouse and an 8-bit programmable Digital I/O interface. Furthermore, the storage and operating system implementation of the GENE-9655 can take advantage of the one SATA II connector and one Type II CompactFlash™ socket.
“The GENE-9655 has expansion options in the form of a Mini-PCI interface and a Mini Card (Mini-PCI-Express) interface that can support 3G modules as well as a large number of commercially-available devices to satisfy customers’ versatile requirements. In addition, the GENE-9655 equips optional onboard Trusted Platform Module (TPM) to provide high-level security capability for applications that demand locked down systems,” said Mac Lin, Product Manager of AAEON’s Embedded Computing Division. “In addition, this model supports CRT/LCD, DVI/LCD simultaneous and dual view displays for video and multimedia applications. The display device is integrated into the Intel® GME965 and shares system memory, up to 384 MB with DVMT 4.0 support. The CRT resolution is up to 1920×1440 and LCD and DVI resolution can go up to 1920×1200. The LCD interface of GENE-9655 can support up to 24-bit dual-channel LVDS. The GENE-9655 comes standard with the DVI-I connector, but we also offer a version that has the15-pin CRT connector in the DVI connector’s place,” added Mac.
These outstanding features of the GENE-9655 make it a perfect solution for digital signage, panel PC, KIOSK, surveillance applications and a perfect fit for the mainstream demands of the embedded market. If you are looking to install a reliable, powerful, easy-to-use, and cost-effective solution to future or existing systems, the GENE-9655 is an ideal solution.
