Christie, a global leader in visual solutions for business, entertainment, and industry, has announced the launch of its revolutionary MicroTiles™ digital display technology. These innovative modular digital display tiles create virtually seamless digital canvases of any size or shape, delivering crisp, spectacular visuals from any distance.

Christie MicroTiles™ are stackable and clusterable digital tiles that form display walls with an advanced optical design, achieving unmatched brightness, contrast, and color reproduction. This technology marks a significant leap in large-format digital display capabilities, offering superior image quality, wide viewing angles, and minimal seams with just a 1mm gap between tiles.

The LED- and DLP®-based system is designed for long-term, reliable commercial use in public spaces, featuring a LED light engine rated for 65,000 hours of operation, equivalent to nearly 7.5 years of continuous use. With dimensions of 16 inches wide by 12 inches high and a depth of only 10 inches, the tiles also require minimal clearance for rear ventilation and can be serviced easily from the front. Self-calibrating sensors built into the tiles eliminate the need for manual color calibration, ensuring uniformity across the display.

Controlled by a simple unit compatible with popular digital signage and media players, the sophisticated yet user-friendly technology allows for versatile assembly and reconfiguration of the tiles. “MicroTiles represent a distinct revolution in display technology, allowing users to create their own digital canvas,” said Bob Rushby, co-inventor and chief technology officer at Christie. “Users can express their creativity and vision, assembling the displays in previously unattainable configurations.”

The versatility and high image quality of the MicroTiles system open up numerous possibilities for designing large, vivid visual displays in architectural installations, advertising, event centers, command and control facilities, and retail environments. The tiles can adapt to the physical constraints or opportunities of various spaces, eliminating compromises associated with other display technologies.

Christie MicroTiles will be showcased at the following North American events:

  • I/ITSEC, November 30-December 3 in Orlando, FL, Christie booth #1449
