Digital View_logoM3-310 & DN-5 Media Players offer direct drive for LCD panels. Ideal for retail and digital signage applications the M3-310 & DN-5 media players allow customers to develop their own custom built all in one LCD panel and media player solutions.

Digital View, the digital display and digital signage hardware manufacturer, is cleverly combining its two specialist product areas in its latest OEM digital media boards. The newly released M3-310 and DN-5 products are not just digital video players, but have integrated onboard direct drive for LCD panels as well.

Used for digital signage and retail media applications, the M3-310 and DN-5 products allow customers to cost-effectively develop their own solutions – simply combining component LCD panels and media players – with their own unique custom designed enclosure around it.

From the same family as the electronics used within the Digital View ‘Viewstream’ digital video player range, the boards offer ‘bullet-proof’ reliability and up to 1080P HD digital playout from a solid state, fan-less, linux core. They deliver crystal clear video playback through high quality on-board scaler chips, and remove the need for any additional system LCD driver electronics

The M3-310 is a compact, USB updatable product, with full interactivity, on-board RS-232, a real time clock for playlist scheduling and field media compliance. It supports MPEG1/2/4 & JPEGs – and with direct drive can plug directly into any LCD panel up to UXGA resolution.

The DN-5 offers a similar suite of features, but up to 1080P/60 High Definition media playback across the full range of video formats. Further the DN-5 can be networked for content upload through either a local area IP network or the internet.

With more than 100,000 Viewstream players sold, Digital View’s products are in use widely across the digital signage, retail media and museum market. They support a host of features specifically targeted at point-of-purchase (POP) messaging, product demonstration, digital merchandising, customer information kiosks, digital docents and digital out-of-home advertising applications.

“These direct drive boards effectively cut out a third of the electronics traditionally required to build a digital signage display”, comments Neil Wood, Product Director at Digital View Inc. “This means a more cost-effective and an even more reliable end product.”
