daktronics logoThe University of Louisiana at Monroe will be upgrading many of their facilities this year with new LED video and scoring technology. They have chosen Daktronics Inc., (Nasdaq-DAKT) of Brookings, S.D., to design, manufacture and install systems for football, baseball, softball and soccer.

“Daktronics is highly regarded as the industry leader when it comes to video displays, scoreboards and audio systems, and we are excited to team up with them to upgrade four of our facilities,” Director of Athletics Bobby Staub said. “Our new football board will be the second largest on-campus videoboard in Louisiana and along with the new sound system will really enhance the game-day experience for our fans.”

The overall football installation at Malone Stadium will measure more than 23 feet high by 77 feet wide. It will include a new LED video display featuring Daktronics 15HD pixel layout. Measuring 23 feet high by 48 feet wide, this display will be capable of showing one large image, highlighting live video or instant replays, or it can be divided into separate windows to show vivid graphics, up-to-the-minute statistics, colorful animations and exciting advertisements.

This display will be flanked on either side by video displays measuring 16 feet high by 14 feet wide. Featuring a pixel spacing of 26 millimeter, these displays will offer more opportunities for recognizing sponsors and exciting fans with additional statistics, graphics and animations.

A custom outdoor football scoreboard and custom sound system complete this installation. Daktronics audio systems provide the latest in digital audio technology to deliver seat shaking bass, crisp highs and natural sounding vocal reproduction. The system also operates on reduced power thanks to more efficient digital amplifiers and power supplies. Its cooler operation and improved weatherization also improve reliability.

At Warhawk Field, fans and players alike will enjoy a new outdoor baseball scoreboard and message center. The message center will measure nearly 8 feet high by 12 feet wide. Along with the scoreboard, which features amber LED digits, patrons will be kept up-to-date with important baseball statistics and entertained with pre-recorded video, animations, graphics and sponsor messages.

The ULM softball and soccer complexes will also receive new scoreboards from Daktronics.

“Daktronics is thrilled about the opportunity to work with ULM on this campus-wide project,” Dan Fjeldheim, Daktronics Sales Representative, said. “ULM has been great to work with over the years, and we appreciate their confidence in us on these upgrades.”

Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with minimal maintenance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
