In case if you missed

Camvine logoCamvine today announced that it will be exhibiting its CODA (Content Distribution Architecture) cloud-based digital signage platform on Stand E35 at this year’s Screenmedia expo (London Earl’s Court 2, 18-19 May). The company will demonstrate how easy it is to display live, user generated content on public screens in business, education, retail and entertainment sectors, without having to download software or install new hardware.

CODA is entirely plug and play with a highly intuitive, drag and drop user interface that enables quick and easy creation of playlists showing user generated or user centric content. This not only includes content streams like RSS news, weather and traffic information, but also includes Web 2.0 content services such as Twitter, FlickR, Facebook and YouTube, plus live proprietary feeds from services such as SharePoint and Google Apps.

Camvine will also be delivering a Keynote speech on 18 May at 13:30 in Theatre 2: ”More Local, More Niche – User Generated Content Used from Social Media and Other Real-time Sources – The Good, The Bad and The Ugly Experiences”.  In his presentation, Steve Hales, Head of Sales & Marketing, will focus on how User Generated Content is being used to make compelling digital signage information systems in both advertising and non-advertising contexts. The presentation will also link into a wider live, publicly visible campaign for the duration of the whole exhibition. Content generated by exhibitors, visitors and expo organisers, including photos, opinions and statistics, will be made available for real-time viewing during the show.

“Screenmedia expo is a key event for us to meet and network with our media partners and screen distributors across the UK and Europe,” said Steve Hales. “We look forward to demonstrating how CODA addresses the editorial aspect of screen advertising in an immediate and user receptive manner. Our screens at the show will be running live tweets for #ScreenMediaExpo, tagged videos for the expo, latest weather and BBC news headlines. To prove this is happening in real time, visitors can submit comments, images and videos from their own mobile devices and watch them appear on screens.”

Camvine is also using the show to seek additional international distributors and domain partners. Visit Stand E35 for more information about the software only distribution of CODA for international distributors; and more information on customising CODA through the open API for domain partners.

About Camvine:

Camvine shares the values of web 2.0 such as openness, accessibility and making the complex simple and affordable. Camvine was set up by Dr Quentin Stafford-Fraser and Dr Michael Dales in 2007. The company provides a ‘drag and drop’ style CODA web service with ‘plug and play’ hardware and an open API to link with other services.  Camvine’s objective is to make the complex very simple and harness the power of the internet.  The company continues to make it easy for its users to link their CODA digital signage platform to other services like Google Apps and SharePoint, and to build their own solutions on top of CODA so they can show live and compelling information on their displays.
