Zoom Media Takes Movie Content Out-of-Home with Digital Signage Deal

A new out-of-home content distribution deal will see current news about top movies and hot celebrities on digital displays in more than 550 bars and nightlife venues in Canada.

The Montreal-based Zoom Media & Marketing Social digital place-based media network is working with TV About Movies and its information service REELZCHANNEL Movie News.

The companies are partnering on the content production and distribution. All content is dynamically updated by pulling the latest online news and information directly from the authoritative www.reelz.com website.

Viewers are not only continually informed about the latest box office results, celebrity information and entertainment news, and what movies to watch in theatres & at home, they are exposed to advertisers’ creative, running adjacent to the REELZCHANNEL content.

The REELZCHANNEL-TV About Movies cable and satellite network currently reaches more than 56 million homes on DIRECTV channel 238, Dish Network channel 299, Verizon FiOS TV channel 233, AT&T U-verse channels 799/1799HD and cable systems in the U.S.

The company’s Chairman and Chief Coaching Officer is François de Gaspé Beaubien, who as co-CEO of Telemedia, oversaw the creation of one of Canada’s largest Radio companies (over 80 radio stations).  He and his siblings sold all their media properties (magazines and radio) by the end of 2002 in order to focus on the growing billboard industry, specifically indoor billboards with their acquisition of Zoom Media in its entirety in 2003 (having been shareholders since 1995

He has been the Chairman of Zoom since 2001 and the Chairman and CEO since 2003.  He has identified the future of the company as “going digital”.  Zoom currently owns over 80,000 targeted billboards (mostly in North America) of which over 26,000 are digital screens.
