Visualplanet™ is delighted to announce today the latest member of its expanding product family with the release of the new touchfoil™ with ultraviolet (UV) blocking, specifically designed for manufacturers of interactive outdoor display solutions.
Introducing a unique optically clear protection layer, the latest touchfoil™ blocks ninety-eight percent of harmful UVA and UVB sun rays. This protection layer has been integrated into the touchfoil™ to protect LCD panels against the risk of long-term exposure to UV and saves both time and money as it removes the need to apply separate protection.
Visualplanet Director Mike Cole says “The addition of the touchfoil™ with UV blocking capability, further enhances our standing as a key component for manufacturers of outdoor kiosks and totems looking to protect their displays, with the extra benefit of making them an interactive touchscreen. We are always looking for positive ways to support our customers and demonstrate not only our loyalty towards them, but our ability to enhance the flexible format of our touch technology. By initiating this innovative touchfoil™ with UV blocking, we are providing an essential solution for the outdoor digital signage market.”
The new robust touchfoil™ with UV blocking maintains all the same characteristics with no visible change from the original touchfoil™ and is simply applied to the internal side of the enclosure’s glass; protecting the LCD and in turn reducing the time and cost in maintenance and replacements. Along with the ease of distribution all over the world because of the touchfoil’s thin and lightweight features, this presents an unmissable opportunity for promoters to offer gripping interactive content; perfect for encouraging brand interaction and advertising revenue.
About the touchfoil™
Each touchfoil™ is manufactured to the customer’s specific size requirements, meaning modifications to new and existing signage solutions are reduced to a minimum. Using ‘projected capacitance’ touch technology the 100 micron transparent touchfoil™ can be attached to and work through non-metallic materials such as glass up to 20mm thick. The touchfoil™ handles single and multi-touch user interaction. Shipping is simple; the touchfoil™ is rolled up and placed in a cardboard tube, making it ideal for the export market.
Established in 2002 visualplanet™ have pioneered the large format touchfoil™ market. As manufacturers of the original touchfoil™, visualplanet™ continues to develop and perfect the product and the manufacturing processes to maintain their market leading position. Visualplanet’s global partners combine the touchfoil™ with an extensive range of solutions to create experiences that engage and delight audiences all over the world.
