Unique Device Drives up to Twelve Independent Screens Designed for Digital Door Signage
Symon, a global provider of digital signage solutions announced the availability of its new Symon Multiplex Appliance (SMA) 3000 media player. The SMA-3000 is a specialized Symon Digital Appliance (SDA) media player with up to 12 independent video output capacity capable of sending one to twelve digital signals from one SMA-3000 implementation to a corresponding number of discrete channels or LCD screens.
“The SMA-3000 is a perfect fit for any business or hotel with multiple conference or ballrooms and any corporate office where there is a need to identify the event or who is occupying a meeting room,” said Charles Ansley, president and CEO of Symon. “We continue to expand our software and hardware capabilities in order to offer our clients creative solutions that economically solve real business issues with reliable and easy to use products.”
The SMA-3000 is designed to be a rack mounted unit (3U) media player for displaying meeting and conference room schedules on 4 x 3 aspect ratio door displays. The SMA-3000 can integrate to scheduling software via Symon Software Release 10.0 and automatically updates the content on remote non-intelligent LCD screens with schedule and event information. It is a perfect fit for any client who desires that all wiring ties back to a single point.
A turnkey solution, Symon also supplies the LCD wall units that connect to the SMA-3000. The LCD Display Kit includes all the components to quickly and easily set up a 15-inch monitor and begin to display digital event information from a SMA-3000. Symon also offers a selection of data collection software interfaces designed for both proprietary property software, open standards (ODBC), Microsoft Outlook or Delphi.
Another new media player option for door signage in hospitality, gaming and corporate offices is the Symon SDA – LCD230-15. It is a 15-inch flat panel LCD display with integrated SDA media player components for instant video plug and play operation. The SDA – LCD230-15 is ideal for any business that wants the efficiency of an all-in-one, small space-saving display (LCD with built-in media player and touch screen) via a single CAT5 cable. Symon’s powerful embedded media controller delivers vivid high quality multi-media content on a 15-inch LCD screen over an Ethernet connection and is perfect for displaying property amenities, guest and visitor information, advertising or corporate messaging when rooms are not scheduled for use.
Symon’s Event Management Software completes the turnkey door signage solution. It is a software plugin that enables clients to manually input changes to a database containing schedules and calendar information for display on predefined Symon media players. Symon Event Management Software also provides manual updates with a specialized hospitality and corporate software plugin that can access Property Management Systems (PMS) like Delphi and others, allowing anyone to change door signage scheduled events manually without having to access highly secure systems.
