VBrick Systems Powers Interactive Digital Signage Solution for the Walter E. Washington Convention Center

Advanced Technology Provides Thousands of Conventioneers Real-Time Information on Conferences, Expositions and Meetings

IP video technology leader VBrick Systems today announced that the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington D.C.’s premier convention center, has deployed a VBrick Digital Signage solution to combine video streaming and digital signage into one fully integrated solution.

Responding to feedback from its visitors, the convention center decided it needed a more advanced communications technology to attract world class events and attendees from around the world. They are using VBrick to stream digital signage content to 150 displays, including 60 high-definition flat panels located throughout the convention center.  This optimizes on-location communications for the hundreds of events, conferences, and exhibitions spanning a variety of vertical industries and associations held in the space.  The convention center is making full use of VBrick Systems’ H.264 encoding products to enable immediate, end-to-end streaming of video without compromising image quality or network bandwidth.

EYETrans Media Communications, a top integrator of interactive solutions based in Silver Spring, MD, engineered and integrated the VBrick Digital Signage solution for the convention center.

Digital Signage Powers Microsoft’s Partner Conference
The convention center’s new digital signage solution proved overwhelmingly successful in keeping thousands of people attending the recent Microsoft Global Partners conference abreast of breaking schedule and venue changes.  With only two weeks between purchasing the VBrick Digital Signage solution and the opening day of the conference, VBrick Systems and EYETrans Media Communications worked feverishly to install, test and bring the digital signs online.  The system proved to be a hit with conference attendees, all of whom simultaneously critiqued the event—and offered numerous suggestions for the next iteration of the conference—by sending and reading thousands of Tweets via the Digital Signage solution throughout the conference.

“After a comprehensive review of all major digital signage solutions on the market we ultimately selected VBrick Systems because it stood alone in providing high quality, interactive digital signage across our convention center,” said Michael Waxer, Chief Technology Officer, Washington Convention Center.  “Moreover, because VBrick Systems’ solution allows digital signage content to be delivered as one video stream over our network, we’ve realized tremendous cost efficiencies with the deployment.”

“Adding the Walter E. Washington Convention Center as a customer is very exciting for us because the center is recognized as one of the most technically advanced and modern convention centers in the world,” said John Shaw, Chief Operating Officer, VBrick.  “We look forward to working closely with the center as it continues its mission to keep thousands of yearly visitors apprised of all the center has to offer, using the most sophisticated digital signage solutions available today.”
