Allure Global Solutions Announces Completion of a Digital Signage Solution for the San Diego Sports Arena

Allure Global Solutions, Inc. completed a new Digital Signage Solution for the San Diego Sports Arena. This solution is part of a larger renovation of this facility that includes new arena seating, a totally renovated and rebranded club, Club 3500, and other physical improvements.

The San Diego Sports Arena is a top regional facility that provides the widest range of premium entertainment to more than 600,000 people each year. According to Pollstar and Billboard Magazines in 2009, the San Diego Sports Arena was rated as one of the “Top 10 Facilities in the World with 10,001 to 15,000 seats.” The arena is managed by AEG Facilities. AEG Facilities operates or consults with more than 90 of the industry’s preeminent venues worldwide.

The Arena is also the venue for Kobey’s Swap Meet, San Diego’s largest outdoor swap meet and the third largest on the West Coast, drawing 30,000 shoppers and more than 1,000 sellers weekly. Kobey’s attracts a large and diverse audience of approximately 1.2 million people per year.

The digital signage solution includes 60, 42” Sharp thin bezel LCD screens. Twenty-eight screens are located at the four entrances and the remainder mounted throughout the interior walkways and club. The screens at the entrances are facing outward, so that patrons coming into the arena will be able to see a schedule of future events, special promotions, timely sponsor messaging and various third-party advertising.

Allure Global provided its Allure 4.0 software, players, content development and all project management for this initiative. This initiative included an animated welcome message, animated sponsor messaging and a programmable messaging component so that arena personnel can easily modify the event calendar showing future events with animated content. For the welcome message and messaging promoting Club 3500, Allure Global’s internal creative staff used a technique called Interruptive Marketing. This technique allows for one singular animated message to display on multiple screens, making its visual impact much greater and more noticeable.

“We are very excited about our new digital signage network,” stated Ernie Hahn II, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the arena. “We view this network as our internal marketing communications system. By adding digital content from our sponsors, event promoters and advertisers as well as other relevant messaging for our patrons, we feel that this network, along with all our other improvements, has substantially modernized our facility and provided us with a unique marketing communications component. We view digital signage as a real game changer and are pleased to have this technology in the building.”

“The content management capabilities and improved features of our Allure 4.0 Digital Media Platform will make digital signage solutions, such as this one at the San Diego Sports Arena much more effective for our customers,” says Craig K. Chapin, President and CEO of Allure Global Solutions. “Digital content brings proven advantages to the customer environment, and our platform makes it easier to develop that content and deliver great flexibility in managing it across an enterprise-scale deployment.”

The debut of this digital signage solution was completed in time for a sold out Black Eyed Peas concert at the Arena.
